Our school has a great hands-on math curriculum, but my core instruction lessons are missing something. I have been searching to find a way to make my math lessons more meaningful and engaging for my students. In math, I want to give my students a deeper understanding of important math ideas and concepts. The best way to do this is with good literature. I want to incorporate stories into the teaching and learning of mathematics. These stories will also help introduce new math concepts and contexts in a motivating manner and act as a source for generating problems and building problem-solving skills. Integrating books into math will help build a conceptual understanding of math skills through illustrations that use visual aids that help in understanding of math concepts. This is going to make such a huge difference in my math lessons and in the learning of my students! I excited to take my students' learning to the next level!!
