My students come from all aspects of life. The student population is roughly 50% African-American, 40% Caucasian and 10% Hispanic. My school is 97% free or reduced price lunch. It is a blue collar town that struggles economically. Too many students do not know where their next meal will come from, where they will be sleeping that night; however, it does not affect their desire to learn. Despite all troubles and inconsistencies in their lives they show up every day with a smile on their face, eager to see what is in store for the day.

About my class
