My students are funny, brilliant thinkers who are constantly exploring the world we can't wait to change! Our school district is poor and underachieving. Our building is both Title 1, which means the government says we need extra resources, as well as being 'priority' which means that the state says we are in general, underperforming. Since my class is the gifted and talented class, that means we are usually doing our own thing. We explore and create and think outside the box. We love to do Science and did a week long science intensive unit out at our local nature center. This winter, we performed Shakespeare's Twelfth Night rewritten for kids. That was a blast and our parents loved it! We had more than 100 family and community members come to see us perform. We could read all day, but we don't because we are also in love with math and writing and never have enough time to play with all of the fun things we are learning!
