Our school is working to bring in our local community through events. Our Harry Poter Family Literacy Night is where we invite families from our past, present and future students to come and celebrate literacy and learning at our school. During the night students are able to complete STEAM activities, play games, learn about new books and reading opportunities, meet community members and groups that offer learning opportunities after school, and more. Our event allows students to have an opportunity to engage with hands-on learning and fun activities in a way that makes learning fun and empowering for them. The event is put on completely by the kindness of donations from our community. This year we are hoping to grow the event, to ensure that students have more opportunities and to grow our school's community. Using the chopsticks, glue sticks, electric glue skillet, and magnets, students will experience the magic and create a personalized wand. Students will be able to take a piece of the fun home with them.
