"Kid, you'll move mountains! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So... get on your way!" - Dr. Seuss. But first, children must be given the boost and confidence they need in order to want to climb the mountain that awaits them. They need to be given the resources and tools to aid in their climb to the top! The students in my school come from very different socioeconomic, cultural, and educational backgrounds. There are many cultures and languages represented in our building and in my classroom. More than 50% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch this school year. Technology is quite limited. Our school district is considered high poverty and many families have single moms or parents struggling to make ends meet.
