Because of the Pandemic, many of this year's incoming Firsties have never step foot into a classroom! I am so excited to meet this group of 30 techies. Last years' group received a slate each to take home. Most of the slates were not returned or simply fell apart. We need fresh slates for a fresh start in the Fall! I hope to create a clean and fun classroom environment where all students will have lots of opportunities to explore, practice new skills, and learn. First graders need to build fine- motor skills and be engaged during our guided lessons. Slates provide students with an opportunity to practice their fine- motor skills without wasting paper.
