The Davis Vantage Vue weather station will enable seventh grade students to track real time weather data. We want to compare weather forecasts found online with the weather instruments in this weather station. My students would benefit from seeing weather instruments and the data they can produce. My students complete a weather journal each year and analyze the data looking for trends. This is one strategy we use to teach them how to understand and predict the weather. The Campark action camera would allow students in the seventh grade to witness the storms and weather events that occur outside our science classrooms. We have frequent storms throughout the year, include severe weather that keeps us out of school. So far this year we have experienced two hurricanes and a winter storm. Typically we see the approach of the storms and the aftermath. My students would benefit from being able to see the time lapse progression of the storm and how it affects our school.
