I come from a school that is in a college town, that is 40-45% free and reduced lunch. A lot of the families in our school can't afford or don't have access to computers/Internet. It is important to me as an educator that children have access to technology. I believe to be a 21st century learner you have to use and be familiar with technology. To do this my kids need everyday access to technology. We share a 2 iPad carts with 20 other classrooms. It is hard to get technology into our classrooms once a week. I love to do reports over animals, solar system, inventors, landmarks, or any other subject that my 3rd grade class is interested in. Unfortunately sometimes it takes kids a couple of days to do research projects, and I can't get the cart 2 days in a row. I would love to have access everyday to technology to do reports or research but also be able to allow my kids to test for reading online. This will help me track data and be able to better understand which area my kids need help.
