My classroom consists of 19 children who are 6 or 7 years old. They learn best through hands on experiences, kinesthetic movement, and having choice in their learning and how they learn best. My first graders work hard to become strong readers and writers through reading and writing workshop. This workshop model provides for independent work, small group work, movement around the classroom, conferencing amongst peers, and much more. They are passionate about reading, and have been busy connecting with authors this year through our classroom twitter page. Our school its a Title I school and is very diverse. We all bring something unique and special to our classroom family.
