My students are a caring, intelligent group of children who want to make a difference in the life's of others. They wear pink shirts to stand up to bullies and they read and write about social injustices in the United States. Our school is a mix of middle class and lower income students over 75% are on free and reduced lunch. My hope is that through the study of A Long Walk to Water and the novels I have chosen, my students will be moved by social injustices into social action.
