My second grade class currently has 23 energetic students who love to learn and have very unique learning styles. Some learn best visually, while others are better auditory learners. Many of them learn best kinesthetically, by moving and touching things, so we try to provide an environment that is conducive to them as well. The challenge is that we have lots of student desks in groups of 4-5 and when the students are at school, we have trouble getting around all of the desks and chairs. Also, many of them need to be able to move around and get in a comfortable place that is conducive to their own learning style. I would like to redesign my classroom space with flexible seating options so that my students will be able to learn best and have choices when it comes to where they will sit every day. My dream classroom would have many different options for the children to choose from each day.
