My 85 students are English learners and range from Kindergartens to fifth graders. Their first languages include Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Romanian and Chinese. They are about as diverse as the many languages they speak. Some are quiet others are active and boisterous. They are very kind hearted and love to learn, especially when something interests them. I have my own classroom, which I share with a co-teacher where we mostly teach our students. Their English proficiency levels vary from beginning to nearly advanced. I work with small grade level groups though out the day, which requires lots of planning, preparation, differentiating and creativity!
