Using digital resources to help promote math and literacy, ensures my kiddos will not fall behind. They respond and have made tremendous progress with interactive learning. In March, their routine, cognitive, language, social-emotional, and fine motor skills and life as they were beginning it, came to an abrupt stop. My kiddos are performing below grade level compared to their typical peers. To ensure they didn't fall further behind, I took supplies from my classroom, scissors, sensory items, crayons, pencils, etc., and made packets for them each week. As our district started switching to online classes for distance learning, through a survey, I found most of my kiddos don't have access to technology to access the virtual classroom. My parents were worrying because they say are seeing regression in progress the skills they learned throughout the year. My kiddos are falling behind due to the lack of technology they need to be able to access the lessons and programming I provide for them during the regular school year. Special Education Prek is the place I help my kiddos close the academic achievement gap, to sit in a regular education classroom in kindergarten. PreK sets the foundation for the love of education. Please help me continue to press towards the mark by providing the tools they need to continue to build upon their foundational skills, by ensuring each of them has access to technology to close the gap with distance learning.
