My students are residents in the inner city. With all the distractions currently going on in our city, school remains their safe haven for learning and exploration. Our students face a spectrum of adversities but understand that there is a world beyond what some of them are exposed to on a day-to-day basis. They feel safe and secure in our school because as a team we work together to ensure that all of our students are reaping the social and academic benefits of being in the learning environment that we create for them. Regardless of what goes on in the community or the city, we maintain a warm and positive school climate, not just for our students, but for their families as well.
