Our middle school houses close to 1,100 students in grades Seven and Eight. I have 47 students who come to my class for English/Language arts and Reading Remediation. Many of these students have struggled in school and we are working on building confidence and finding strengths to increase intrinsic motivation. More than half of my students are kinesthetic learners, so they are constantly on the move. In our classroom, you might see a student standing and working, lying on the floor or under a desk while reading, or even walking around while using a clipboard. Students are working hard to find what works for them and they are finding more success academically.
