I am the Title 1 Reading teacher for grades K-6th in a school with 89% of the students are on free or reduced lunches. Many students at my school receive backpack food on the weekend. Despite so many hardships, our students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. I serve all students in my school. We are a Title 1 school which means I help all students to become better readers. I work with students who are reading above their recommended level by challenging them. I work with average reading students to keep them from falling behind and or giving them the extra they need to go above level. I also work with the struggling readers by filling in the gaps they are missing to become successful readers! I am also in charge of many reading activities in the school to promote the love of reading for our students.
