The benefits of these sensory tools include calming effects, improving the focus on tasks, increasing fine and gross motor skills, and cognitive development. My goal is to decrease negative behaviors and increase positive interactions between students. These tools will promote a fun learning environment for my students. I will be able to have individual work stations going at one time, each working to their individual learning style. The weighted vest will help to calm my student who requires constant movement and stimulation. The dough and grasping tools will improve their fine motor skills so that they can eventually hold a pencil.
