This project will serve a special education classroom in a Title I school. Our students come form very diverse backgrounds and home situations. There are a total of 546 students enrolled at our school. Out of those students 91 have a disability, 162 are receiving ELL services, 33 are migrant education, 522 are Title I students, and 72.3% are receiving free or reduced meals. These supplies will be used by a Resource classroom that serves 28 students. All but 3 of these students are significantly behind their grade level and require direct instruction in reading. All of the students receive specialized reading instruction within their general education classroom so that they do not become socially ostracized. The majority of these students are incredibly eager to learn and willing to work hard. They smile and are proud when they experience growth and success. Often they require multiple modes of presentation to fully grasp concepts.
