My students are comical, curious and inquisitive, maybe even to a fault. All my students have been diagnosed with an emotional or behavior disability, so when faced with a difficult situation their brain is telling them to run away. However, my students fight every single day to battle that urge and work towards being the best versions of themselves they can be. My school is a place of support, encouragement, and positive validation. We help the students to see no matter what challenges they may face; we are always here for them. Being in a low socio-economic area and having a disability, my students are faced with many challenges. In spite of all of that, they put their best feet forward, apologize with they are wrong, and encourage their classmates.
