I teach kindergarten at a rural Title I school, with 100% of my students receiving free lunch. Most of my students are from average to low income families. They have a strong desire to learn and work hard. My students enter the year with some of the lowest readiness scores in my district; however, consistently score at the top of the district by the year's end. What they lack in experience, they make up for in passion and willingness to learn. We are severely lacking in books on audio cd at our school and I have spent all I can out of my own pocket at this time. Your support will enable students to experience the joy of books and learn critical reading skills in the process.
