Tablets and chromebooks are great tools to support language arts and math interventions. They provide limitless opportunities to load books of all genres. It also promotes privacy and support for all leveled readers especially those who struggle with reading, phonics and decoding skills. When reading on a digital device, struggling readers can feel safe reading books on their reading level because it camouflages a book cover. Struggling readers with phonemic awareness deficiencies will benefit from a tablet by listening to books read aloud to them with headphones. Many middle school children shun away from reading because they feel embarrassed about reading below grade level. Upload podcasts or books of interest will promote a love of reading. Reading more will increase fluency and comprehension. Whenever technology is incorporated into learning and instruction, it builds engagement and learners tend to least likely give up or shut down. Your donation will impact students and make learning more meaningful, engaging and fun. Having digital devices readily available will enable “at risk” learners to maximize reading and math skills through learning at their own pace. Every child loves working with digital devices. So why not use digital devices as a platform for them to develop skills and love learning. Your donation will be a gift that keeps on giving! Year after year, these devices will greatly impact the minds of children here within our community. These digital devices are just the beginning of what’s to come. These tablets and chromebooks are just the little spark needed that will eventually ignite into children competing with their peers across the globe as future scientists, mathematicians, teachers, doctors, lawyers and/or politicians.
