Open doors, expand horizons, learn the power of empathy! The Architect's Apprentice will do all of this for my students. Did you know that stories, fiction, stimulate the brain and can even change how we act in life (Annie Murphy Paul, 2012)? Novels provide a unique way for students to explore society and human emotions. These books will be powerful in the classroom as a tool to teach students from a small town about life in other places. They will offer a mode to discuss valuable life lessons about love, loyalty, and the power of relationships. Further, this novel has interesting characters, motifs and themes that will allow students to build their critical thinking and analytical skills as they prepare for college, careers, and everything life beyond high school has in store for them.
