The materials have a home ready for them. These items will allow students to be more successful in their learning environment. Students can have more movement with the spots but also headsets if students need to have less noise and hear the teacher to cancel out the background noise.
The weighted lap blankets will allow for students with anxiety to decompress. The vests will help student stay in the class and to help keep from being overwhelmed. The bands can be added to the chairs for students that have fidget movements and cause distractions to other students learning. The other items like the play doh and the abc will allow student to practice cutting different words, yet give them a break they need from regular writing and reading activities.
The Velcro dots are needs to put behavior books together for student that need to follow schedules and each day schedules change. Their daily schedules can be rearrange. They are also used for teachers to pull cards showing the expected behaviors needs for students to behave.
The magnetic ten frames allow student to manipulate and gain a greater understanding of values and relating to numbers. Students can visualize, feel, and manipulate items using more senses in the learning during math.
All these items will be used for student and the different needs within the special education classroom as well as with the students when they are in different classrooms with their peers and regular education classrooms.
