Students will use the Chromebooks to help them be academically successful in many different ways. Students will complete final drafts of various writings using Google Docs which will allow them to workshop their writing in multiple ways. As students compose their writings they can easily share their ideas with both their teachers and peers; their peers and teachers can then easily give feedback and communicate ideas about the writing. The can also use the Chromebooks to conduct research to find evidence to support and strengthen their argument.
The Chromebooks will help to make the curriculum more equitably accessible to all students; especially for the students who do not have access to technology or the Internet at home. Students who qualify for accommodations can also use the Chromebooks to assist them in the reading and annotating processes. They can also access online resources that will help them understand that basic meaning of the text they are reading. Using some of the Google tools, students can also annotate and take notes using voice to text features; this feature is especially useful when students have difficulty writing.
