I have 17 second graders that are eager to learn in engaging ways that keep their minds captivated. Being at a poverty-stricken school means that these students lack resources at home that provide them opportunities to truly grow and evolve in a technology-based world. They are students that are truly captivated by engaged lessons, not worksheets and copies that require them to fill in a blank. They need technology to research and investigate topics on their own, to inspire them to think deeper and to preserver, and to reinforce technology skills that will help them to grow into successful adults with a positive future. They also need flexible seating options when completing these activities to encourage movement and mind-body activity. An active body is an active mind!
