I will be teaching eighth grade ELA as a Special Education teacher for the first time this upcoming school year. In order for my students to succeed and make progress in ELA, I am required to provide them with appropriate materials and resources. Setting up my classroom is crucial and making sure I am ready by September with all necessary supplies will be difficult due to the cost. My students are all on different reading levels and are English Language Learners as well. I am expected to accommodate them by having access to books on all reading levels and daily classroom supplies. Also, having a printer in our classroom will allow me to differentiate worksheets, graphic organizers and other materials when appropriate. At times, I am required to change or find new materials during a lesson. The printer will allow me the opportunity to meet the needs of all my students.
