My students are 8 to 10 years old and are full of life and energy! While some of them are able to sit at a desk all day and listen, the majority of them need to move their bodies and collaborate. My students have a variety of different learning styles, and every student learns differently from the others. I believe all of my students are bright and capable, but the traditional classroom set up is not meant for every student. I believe there are many students that would have more success with an innovative classroom. My school has a solid Special Education program with great support programs in reading and math intervention. Our experienced staff in Counseling and Intervention are integral in helping support emotional and social growth of our students. Along with a supportive principal, all have been supportive of creating a "model classroom" where new and innovative techniques are encouraged.
