Many of our students were sent home without the knowledge that they would not be coming back to school. As stressful as the pandemic has been to our nation, our at risk students are placed in even more difficult circumstances with food shortages, parental loss of income and so on. Teaching art online is a challenge and I want to level the playing field so that students are able to do some drawing and journaling during this time of crisis. I am teaching through Google Classroom, have lesson assignments, but will need to distribute art materials to all those who need them so that we can have equity across our student population. Each student would get individual drawing tools with an instructional packet when they pick up their weekly food allotments.
