Our students enjoy school, feel safe at school, and look to school for communal connections. Our school is located on 21 acres in what once was considered a small railroad town with an agricultural focus. Our school accommodates grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The town still has two of the largest apple and peach orchards in the area. We promote farm-to-table opportunities within our lunch options. Our students' love of animals is apparent when they share in our morning meetings. Situated close to the University of Virginia has its advantages. Our students are creative and participate in the following enriching opportunities: Virginia Film festival; Writer's Eye Contest; L.E.D. Design Challenge; Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) projects; and Robotics. As one of their teachers, I see potential and promise in our students. They are committed to grow as a communal citizens with innovation and will not allow their lack of tools or finances to stop them.
