I teach in a neighborhood school with students coming from a variety of backgrounds and previous experiences. Four different languages are represented among our student population and over 80% of the student population qualify for free or reduced meals. Students start kindergarten with a wide range of skills. We discuss the importance of being accountable for our learning and setting goals. Students are excited to increase their reading skills and love independent reading time. We do not have enough lower kindergarten through early first grade reading leveled books for our classroom library. I am requesting Leveled A-D books to fill this void.
