While I am not a new teacher, this is my first year teaching Kindergarten and I need many more supplies and resources. My school and PTA are currently unable to help me supply many of the things needed to support a hands-on learning environment for my students. I strongly desire my classroom to be a place where my students have access to a variety of materials that will compliment each of their learning styles. Eventually, I would like to add better technology to my classroom, but for now I am focused on the basics. Ensuring that low income students are supplied with the materials they need to be engaged in their learning is so important. I am seeking to use many of the materials in my learning stations. These will be available for the students to use and explore as they learn. The magnetic letters and magnetic sentence builders will help build my student's beginning literacy skills. The sentence strips and markers will help us practice writing in large group. The pattern blocks and cards, dice, and Ten Frames will be used during math centers. The Astro-bright colored paper and laminating sheets will allow me to print out and save all of the learning center activities that they will do throughout the year in each subject and laminate them for durability. I would like the pocket charts for my Calendar Math and Place Value component each day and the cart to have a mobile storage option for my science stem bins.
