Our class needs a variety of multicultural art supplies for this year's art projects. In the last few years I have been working towards teaching inclusivity and diversity through books. This year, my hopes are to bring multicultural awareness to my students through ART! I started the year off with purchasing a class set of multicultural markers. This starting point took us to places I had not expected! Multicultural art media will allow students to see themselves in their art. Intending to allow students to represent themselves through their art, I quickly saw how eager they were to represent their friends and family members of different cultures. We started with an art lesson on movement and created a project that depicted a dancer. What a joy it was to see dancers of all backgrounds floating across our art wall! Multicultural art supplies will allow my students to represent an array of cultures while experimenting with a variety of art media.
