I teach in a high poverty school in the inner city with over three fourths of the children receiving free or reduced lunch. Almost half of my classroom is made up of English language learners along with a few students who have special needs. I have students in my classroom who live in poverty, hotels, and no permanent housing. They are a very active group of kiddos and very excited about school who love learning new things and working together to grow academically.
