The students in this K-8 charter school work well together and are eager to learn. Most of them volunteer to help their peers when they struggle. Some students struggle in math and they need retesting on our newly implemented Benchmark Assessments. The students nurture each other and are willing to work in small groups to achieve success. Some students are new to our school and are struggling with the mastery of addition and subtraction facts due to their diverse backgrounds which hinder their performance in class. Some students still count on their fingers because they do not have resources at home which are afforded to students who are on grade level. Some appear to feel frustrated and lost when they don't master the assessment tests. Some struggle with math computation because they perform below grade level in reading, but all of them have the desire to learn. They want to learn, but need additional reinforcement so they can achieve mastery on grade level benchmark tests.
