My students are mostly middle school, 6th, 7th, 8th grade students reading below grade level. I teach in a low income, Title 1 school. With a largely Hispanic population. Most of my kids don't see reading as a pleasurable activity. Many of my students do not have a place at home that they can sit, relax, and enjoy the experience of getting lost in a great book. I want to give them that in my classroom.
