My students are learning two languages at the same time. Their learning requires many visuals to help illustrate vocabulary and to help them get a better understanding of what words mean. As a teacher, I have been trained (through Project GLAD) to teach vocabulary in a meaningful way. Unfortunately, the printer at school only has black ink and I do not own a color printer. The Social Studies Resource Packs will also provide students with the visuals and support needed to learn language through social studies. With this color printer, I would be able to provide my students with the support they need to acquire language. Teachers are often creating their own learning material because they see students' needs. I see the need for language development and these items would make a huge impact in the classroom.
