My students will be in awe of the Mackinac Bridge. Many have never been on bridge, let alone the longest suspension bridge in the world. We will have spent weeks studying the Great Lakes and the history behind the Island. Being able to actually go to the places they have been learning about is the best way for them to apply what they have learned and make the content meaningful to them. Your donations will make a difference in my students' lives by providing them an experience they will never forget. For many, it will be their first time on a charter bus, first time to travel over a bridge, first time visiting one of the Great Lakes, first time on a ferry, first time on an island, and first time away from family. My students will be able to take what they have learned in the classroom and make real world connections.
