My students are eighth graders, 13 or 14 years old. 67% of the students at our school qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. 73% of our students are Hispanic. The students have strong connections with their family and friends. They enjoy interacting and learning each other's stories. My classes really enjoy reading and would benefit from access to more books that captivate their interest, as well as continue to build their understanding of U.S. history.
