Our school is one of a handful NYC Charter Schools that are part of the Full Day Pre-K-For-All program, implemented within the 5 boroughs of NYC. In our second year of this program, we continue to work on improving what our Pre-K program has to offer. The Pre-K students come from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Our Pre-K class consists of 1/3 native Spanish speakers, while the majority of students speak a second language at home. Although we are fortunate to have many materials in our classroom, as a Title 1 school with Pre-K through 12th grade classes, it can be difficult for us acquire new materials throughout the year. In a world where technology has become an integral part of learning, my students want to explore the world around them, and technology would significantly enhance this process.
