My classroom is located in an inner-city school. A large percentage of students come from low socioeconomic status. In order to be competitive in a global economy, they need to be taught 21st-century skills, including the appropriate use of technology, advanced critical thinking skills, and productive collaboration. The supplies needed to effectively teach many units are nonexistent in the school. With supplies funded by Donors Choose, learning will transform from a traditional lecture style into a hands-on learning experience. Students will explore science concepts through inquiry-based activities. Through exploration, students will stay engaged in problem-solving using critical thinking.
