I teach in a public elementary school that serves kids in Pre K - 6th grades in east central Alabama. My school has over 800 students. We are a Title 1 school where over half of our students receive free or reduced lunch. My challenge is providing a fun and exciting learning environment for my students. I am one of six Kindergarten teachers and have 21 students in my classroom. One of the most important times in my classroom is when we do whole group instruction. During this time is it critical for the students to have their own personal defined space. I have several students that come to me lacking self control. The social and emotional lessons they learn in big group lessons are necessary for their success in school.
