I currently work in a single gender, all boys school, that services students, in one of the most poverty stricken areas, in Georgia. Most of our students are often in need of basic items such as clothes, coats, shoes etc. Some students are homeless. Some come from a tough home life, and have adultlike problems. However, they are eager to learn, and often only want to know that people care about them. To most of our students, our school is a safe haven. It is a place where adults will do what they can to ensure that they are successful.
