We are currently co-teaching a 6th grade math class. We are implementing a Math Workshop model for our class come September. Math Workshop will allow our students at different levels to progress at a rigorous yet appropriate pace. A huge part of Math Workshop is small group instruction with a teacher. This allows our students to receive instruction in with a smaller student to teacher ratio. However, we lack a table that would facilitate small group instruction. Our classroom is filled with desks and tables for students to work in groups, but none of the furniture allows for a teacher to work with a small group and access all students in the group.
