The STEM resources included in this project will be the beginning of students having true hands-on STEM learning opportunities. These hands-on resources such as the Dash and Dot Wonderbot and a programmable coding mouse and maze, will be used in order to connect Math and ELA common cores standards, state standards and Next Generation Science Standards in order to achieve the true meaning of STEM. Additional resources needed for our hands-on learning lab are critical thinking and engineering games such as Sink or Float STEM Activity Set, construable magnet letters, Ten Frame Math thinking game, Learning Resources Mental Blox critical thinking game, a 120 number grid board, and Legos to allow for hands-on engineering.
It will enhance the students understanding of how science, technology, engineering and mathematics all come together. These learning opportunities will allow for all 400+ students at my school to experiment with STEM and understand how these domains are applied to the real world and can make a positive impact on the future.
