My students work extremely hard and take pride in their school work and their school, however, many fourth grade students have spent the past four school years sitting in their cold, hard, seats while being expected to pay attention, complete their work, and learn new concepts. We know that every student in the classroom has preferred places to work like on a couch or on a stool, but in a traditional classroom, there are no options for students who would rather stand up or sit on the floor to work. In my classroom, I want to be able to offer my students seating choices which would allow them to pick a spot that best suits their learning needs in order to reach their highest potential.
