Our school is a diverse public school in an urban area. We pride ourselves on our multicultural student body and hard-working students. While our students in AP Biology and Chemistry achieve well, I believe that they would benefit from a deeper understanding of WHY they learn the content. I hope to instill in the students a purpose behind their studies, such as disease prevention, advances in life-saving drugs and treatments, and the ethical and social aspects of science. I believe that the book "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" is ideal to stimulate thought not only in terms of science and cancer prevention, but in history and justice as well. Thank you for considering helping our North High Saxons!
