I would like to provide my students with a new Reading/Writing center and an updated classroom library. The Reading/Writing center will provide my students with a large space where they can collaborate as they learn to tell stories and write new words. It will also be beneficial as we are creating anchor charts together and reading our big books during read alouds and shared reading. I also want to update our classroom library. While my students have many different books to read that cover a variety of topics and reading levels, I feel that it needs to look more inviting. I have shelf space for the books, but not enough boxes to to sort them in a way that the students can easily select a "good fit" book that suits their interest. I believe that the students will be more excited about reading if the classroom library looks more inviting and easy to navigate.
