As a public school teacher in a Title One school, I am inspired by the excitement and joy for learning displayed by my 8 and 9 year old students. They love learning about nature and discovering animals in their natural habitat. There is nothing better than to watch their faces light up as they are able to watch animals and have a hands on experience at a Monarch butterfly migration resting stop. Natural Bridges in Santa Cruz, California offers such an experience for students to walk through the tree grove and view the Monarchs in their nesting place! Renting a bus can be quite costly and our students' families are not able to fund this cost. The cost of a bus for the day from Milpitas to Santa Cruz and back is about $900. We are in need of monetary help to make this trip possible. What better way can we bring the classroom alive as we learn firsthand about the Monarch butterfly in their natural wintering habitat?
