The school is located in the city of Paterson, NJ. I teach students from grades K-2nd, who have Individual Educational Plan (IEP's). Each student's personality ranges, but the majority tend to have low self-esteem, are quiet, and are very frustrated. In a typical large classroom setting the students get overwhelmed, confused on subject matter and "shut down." When the students enter my classroom they feel comfortable in expressing thoughts, feelings, concerns and are not afraid to make mistakes in order to grow and learn. The school I teach at is small and is for grades K-4th. The environment within the school is positive and colorful. The staff is dedicated, caring, friendly and are team players, which help the students to succeed.
