My students have so much energy built up by the time they get to recess and they need a way to release this energy. Providing them with sports equipment during recess will help them work on forming positive relationships with each other. Building teams through play will help them work on good sportsmanship and their ability to problem solve. Students need the opportunity to play with their peers at recess. Team building skills and being able to get along with other students are life skills that all students need. By providing equipment including basketballs, and footballs, you are changing the future one ball at a time! We are a school that strives to keep students active. The donation of sports equipment will help us reach that goal! The project will provide basketballs, footballs, kickballs, and soccer balls for students who don't have much to play with when they are out at recess. We have 3 grade levels on the recess field at the same time. We have some equipment for them to play on, but 1st grade uses it. Everyone knows that you can't put 1st and 4th graders together on equipment. We are fortunate to have a large field area for our kids. The field can get very boring really quick. The sports equipment will allow our students to form teams and play an actual game of their choice. I hope you consider helping fund this project!
